Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship in UK

The Developing Solutions scholarship is a postgraduate scholarship at the University of Nottingham. It is prestigious program that was established in 2001 to support students from Commonwealth countries, including Africa and South Asia.

This initiative aims to assist international students who aspire to contribute to the development of their home countries in various areas, such as economics, environment, infrastructure, social welfare, and politics.

University of Nottingham scholarship 2023

The University of Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship provides 50% or 100% tuition fee waiver for selected students who show exceptional passion and creativity in developing innovative solutions that will make a significant impact in their home countries and inspire positive changes.

These one-year scholarships are available to students who intend to pursue a full-time master’s degree (including MRes) in the faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Science, or Social Sciences.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be from Africa, India, or one of the Commonwealth countries listed in the eligibility section; be classified as an overseas student for tuition purposes;
  • Hold an offer to study a full-time master’s degree (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham UK.

Requirements and Application Process

To apply for this scholarship, applicants must first apply and receive an offer to study a full-time master’s degree (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham.

After receiving an offer, candidates can submit their scholarship application through the NottinghamHub scholarship section. Applicants who have an offer for an MRes course should contact the scholarships team for instructions on how to apply.

The scholarship applications will be evaluated based on the candidate’s vision and plan to address key economic, environmental, structural, social, or political challenges in their home country.

Additionally, strong applicants will need to demonstrate how their proposed solutions are related to their course of study and how this will contribute to their efforts. After the initial evaluation, scholarship applications will be assessed based on other traditional scholarship criteria, such as academic merit and reasons for studying at Nottingham.

It’s important to note that there is a strict word count limit for all questions, which will be specified at the end of each question. Exceeding the word count limit may result in the disqualification of the application.

The University will notify successful applicants of the outcome of their scholarship application in early July 2023.
