British Council scholarships for women in STEM

Details:

If you are a female who holds a degree in a STEM subject and is passionate about your studies, there is an opportunity for you to receive a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics at a prestigious UK university.

For the third year running, the Women in STEM scholarship programme is being launched by the British Council in collaboration with 21 UK universities to support women from regions such as the Americas, South Asia, East Asia, western Balkans, central Asia, Brazil, Egypt, Mexico, and Turkey.

The scholarship programme has been developed to increase opportunities for girls and women in STEM, which is vital since UNESCO data reveals that less than 30 percent of researchers worldwide are women, and only 30 percent of female students choose STEM-related fields in higher education. However, the figure is slowly increasing, reaching 35% as of 2022.
