The University of Akron provides postgraduate programs aimed at promoting career progression.
There are numerous ways by which you can fund your graduate education at the University of Akron, Ohio USA. One of these is the graduate. One of these is through the graduate assistantship program.
UNIVERSITY OF AKRON ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIPS
Graduate Assistantships are available for some full-time graduate students at the University of Akron. Interestingly, the assistantships may cover all or part of tuition fee and most likely stipends in return for specified hours of work.
Currently, Associate Professor Qixin Zhou of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering 213F Engineering Research Centre has two openings for Ph.D. graduate assistantships in her research group.
Eligibility
Applications from candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Material Science, or other relevant fields.
Requirement
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Hold or be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Submit GRE scores (Ph.D. applicants are exempt from taking the GRE until June 30, 2023).
- Achieve a minimum score of 79 on the internet-based TOEFL or 6.5 on the IELTS, with a DET score of at least 115.
Candidates with a strong interest or background in one or more of the following areas will be given priority consideration:
- Material synthesis and characterization
- Coating
- Polymer
- Corrosion
- Simulation or modeling
